Brief Bio
Charles Dewandeler is the Writter, Director and Editor of the feature film "Parody Movie." But it doesn't end there, nor does it begin there...

Since childhood, Charles Dewandeler knew he wanted to be the next Steven Spielberg. Anxious to get into the business out of high school, Dewandeler went to Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts and upon graduation (2001) landed a job producing television programs for Clinton Township Television (CTTV).

Dewandeler went on to complete a four year degree at Wayne State University (2005) all the while producing award winning work at CTTV. His short film "Trash Wars" was a finalist in the 2004 Telly Awards and Hometown Video Festival (held in Orlando Florida). The film also garnered Dewandeler his first taste of "Ink," landing him in a couple local papers. Since then Dewandeler has been featured in C&G Newspapers, The Macomb Daily, The Detroit News and The Detroit Free Press.

"Trash Wars" was also one of Charles Dewandeler's first productions to air not only in Clinton Township, but a variety of stations in southeastern Michigan. Since then several of Charles Dewandeler's productions have also aired in Mount Clemens, Shelby Township, Sterling Heights, Warren, Royal Oak, Romeo, Harrison Township and others.

After graduating in 2005, Charles Dewandeler received recognition for two of his works. "Living With Terror" (a narrative short) won Dewandeler first place at the Wayne State film festival that year and received 2nd place in the Comcast/IFC film competition in 2006. His feature length documentary entitled "Church and State" took about a year to produce working off-and-on. This documentary about politics and religion not only aired on cable stations all over Metro Detroit, it also got coverage in the press and rave reviews from viewers.

In 2006, not only did Charles Dewandeler take home 2nd in the Comcast/IFC competition, but his film "Living With Terror" was also featured on Comcast On-Demand. That same year Dewandeler received national recognition for his work when he was the "featured director" on IFC's "Uploaded" program. In that show, the Independent Film Channel ran an interview with him as well as two of his short films.
